Series of Interviews by Reese Bennett
Have you ever wondered how you can give back to your community? The previous installment was about Freshman Griffin Davis and how and why he helps his community.
This installment will be about Freshman Robert “RJ” Greer.
How do you help your community?
I like to participate in group activities, whether its group cleaning of socialization. I do this to strengthen my bond with the community.
Why do you enjoy your community enough to put this time into it?
I want to leave an impact on the community, showing that things can be done with effort and the help of others. If people can recognize this, they will be more inclined to help.
What do you want to help your community become in the future?
I want to make a community of safety, regardless of what things may separate us as people.
When do you do these things, and how do you find ample time for them?
It’s most common to do in the summer months with outdoor projects. I like to set time out of my day or week to make time. If you want to give time, you have to manage your time.
Where can you find places like these to help?
No specific place, you can find large groups based on certain factors that are a problem in the area. If there are larger struggles, more people will pitch in and it will be easier to find a solution.
