The newly released horror film “Weapons” (Rated R), starring Julia Garner, brings audiences along a haunting journey, where all students in a classroom, except for one, mysteriously vanish at 2:17 A.M. at the exact same time. The community is left rattled and lost as to who or what is responsible for this unexpected disappearance. This haunting thriller was both chilling and a refreshing take on the umbrella of concepts horror movies traditionally follow. We thoroughly enjoyed this film, although we found it slightly underwhelming when considering the immense anticipation in advance of the film’s release. Nonetheless, the plot of the movie itself is a striking contrast from the route horror films usually take, so we applaud that aspect of the film. We found there to be some minor plotholes within the film, and lack of depth in other aspects, but overall, we remained entertained throughout the duration of the film. For these reasons, we rate this film a ⅗ , but still recommend you add this film to your watchlist.
