I LOVE Tetris. I have played over a thousand levels and it is my third favorite video game. So, you can imagine my surprise when I found out that it was the first video game ever played in space. The record was accomplished by a Russian cosmonaut named Aleksandr Serebrov. On July 1st, 1993, he brought his Game Boy with him as he soared toward the MIR Space station. Apparently, he deeply enjoyed the game and would play it in his free time while traveling in space. The Game Boy was sold along with a signed note attached to the game at an auction in 2011.
